In the workshop, inspired by Frank Bowling's works depicting the house where he spent his childhood, participants transform a place that holds significance in their memories into a layered artwork using paint, printmaking, collage, sewing, and three-dimensional materials.
Content:
Inspired by Frank Bowling's works, which depict the places from his childhood, this workshop encourages participants to recreate a space that holds significance in their memories, using a variety of materials and techniques. Drawing inspiration from Bowling's layered surfaces, participants will work with paint, printmaking, fabric, string, paper, and three-dimensional materials to create their own unique interpretations.
The participants, by manipulating, adhering, layering, and covering surfaces, address the chosen space not by directly depicting it, but through elements, textures, and associations. At the end of the workshop, a layered artwork emerges, where memory, space, and materials come together.
Workshop Facilitator: Pera Learning Team.
Capacity: 12 people.
