"Yasak Helva" will be at Komünite on January 15th at 9:30 PM.

Formed in Izmir by three musicians of Balkan origin, Yasak Helva reinterprets the multicultural musical heritage of Anatolia, presenting it in their own style, which they call an "Anatolian Fusion." Their music, shaped by instruments like the electric bağlama, zurna, bass guitar, and drums, features their own compositions, traditional melodies, and songs from different regions.

The group, which has performed at prestigious venues such as the Sziget Festival, the Carthage Jazz Festival, and the Istanbul Jazz Festival, continued to reinterpret pieces from various traditions through their own musical language after releasing their debut album, "Rektefe," in 2019. Their second album, released in June 2025 under the Gülbaba Records label, consists entirely of songs written by the group. Atamba. This marks a new era in the journey of Yasar Helva.
