Çıplak Ayaklar Kumpanyası: Kuşlama
The Naked Feet Company's new project, "Kuşlama," will be premiered at Arter on October 30th and 31st, where it will be seen by audiences for the first time.
"Kuşlama" is a performance created specifically for the Arter museum's staircase, featuring 13 dancers. It's a choreography that explores the possibilities and urgency of what happens when bodies are exposed to the associations they encounter on the stairs – the flow of people, the transition from the street to the museum, the sense of intrusion, and the feeling of being scattered and overflowing. It's a unique approach to pursuing dreams.
"Hello to everyone I encounter on the metro, those waiting at red lights, honking their horns, greeting me, hanging laundry, looking out the window, knocking on the wrong door, being woken from sleep, laughing, avoiding eye contact, going through a breakup, facing the sun, taking their cat to the vet, chanting slogans, leaving the cinema, feeling bored, being beaten, kissing, getting lost, feeling scared, experiencing love for the first time, feeling homesick, moving house, feeling hungry, drinking too much alcohol, holding a child's hand, being treated unfairly, making tea, going to school, returning from a long journey, hugging someone, singing, rushing home, getting lost and ending up somewhere else, looking up at the sky, pausing to catch their breath."
We are the small people of big cities, seemingly so proud and arrogant. But compared to the vast oceans, earthquakes, extreme temperatures, a meteor, or this entire universe, what are we really?
Choreography: Çıplak Ayaklar Company.
Creative Dancers: Şiva Canbazoğlu, Selim Cizdan, Gülseren Cizdan, Ece Çamlı, Beste Demir, Barış Diker, Eylül Doğan, Zeynep Duman, İlayda İpekçi, İlayda Kolaylı, Gizem Seçkin, Yunus Emre Şahin, Diren Ezgi Yıldızkan.
Project assistants: Duru Yılmaz, Zahit Emre Metin, Ezgi Yılmaz.
