**Kamerasız (Without a Camera)**
Director and Producer: Zeyno Pekünlü
2021 | DCP | Color | 71' | With Sound | Turkey
Zeyno Pekünlü's *Kamerasız* reinterprets one of the most important experimental films in cinema history, Dziga Vertov's *The Man with a Movie Camera* (1929), through the lens of contemporary image production methods. 325 images collected from an online video sharing platform are transformed into a new film, following the original structure scene by scene, thanks to Elizaveta Svilova's original editing. From mobile phone cameras to GoPros, from dashcams to drones, these devices take the place of the camera and cameraman in Vertov's world. *Kamerasız* explores how the utopian ideal of the camera as an extension of humanity in 1929 has transformed into a reality of constant image production today, prompting reflection on who produces the images, who watches them, and how the relationship between humans and cameras has changed.
