The Leleg Trail project, which starts from Etrim village and extends to Sabancı Park in Turgutreis (88 km), and with its connecting routes, offers a total of 185 km of hiking trails. The project was prepared by the Bodrum Chamber of Commerce to extend the tourism season in the region and is also supported by the Southern Aegean Development Agency. In addition to the ancient cities of Pedesa and Leleg, other historical structures and settlements, such as the Gebe Church, are located along the trail. There is also a 20 km mountain bike trail along the route. The Lelegs were one of the civilizations that settled in the Bodrum Peninsula in ancient times. According to Herodotus, another resident of Bodrum, the Lelegs were skilled warriors and stonemasons. They built structures without using mortar or lime, and many of their buildings have survived to this day. They created structures by cutting and stacking stones, which made their buildings more durable. According to the historian Strabo, the Lelegs sided with the Trojans in the Trojan War. After the war was lost, they settled in the Bodrum Peninsula, around 1100 BC.
