The Peninsula with Urla, Alaçatı and Çeşme
Sign in to like and rate
The peninsula west of İzmir gives you a lot in a single day, with vineyard roads, stone villages and surf bays. Open the morning at the ancient olive-oil workshop in Urla and breakfast at İskele, wander Alaçatı's stone streets at midday, swim at Ilıca in the afternoon, then look toward Chios from Çeşme Castle at dusk and eat fish in the harbour. We saved the wine road for its own trip article, so here you are only passing through. Coming by car makes the day far easier.
