Yetişkin Atölyesi: Doğaçlama Atölyesi - 3. Modül
Inspired by Mehtap Baydu's solo exhibition, "It's So Hard to Love You!", this improvisation workshop invites participants to step outside of conventional movement patterns and experience movement as a collective creative tool. The first session of this four-part workshop series, designed by İdil Kemer (Funflows), will encourage participants to draw inspiration from the various systems and layers within their bodies, reflecting on how Baydu transforms the body into an artistic medium through various channels, and then engaging in improvisational exercises accordingly. The second session will focus on the concept of "breath," inspired by Baydu's performance, "Breath (Atem)." The workshop will explore breath as a spectrum of images circulating within and beyond the body, allowing participants to create space with their breath and discover how to fill the space with movement and breath. In the third session, participants will explore the fluidity between nature and the body, drawing inspiration from Mehtap Baydu's work, "Twist." They will expand the body's range of motion through circles, spirals, curves, and spheres, creating dynamic landscapes by drawing on imagery from nature. The final session will see participants engage in a multi-dimensional warm-up ritual, inspired by the fluid identities and part-whole relationships found in Baydu's works. The core of this workshop lies in "creating characters" from body parts and grounding the body's various forms within a narrative framework. This exploration, which traces moments of self-construction in everyday life, will invite participants, through dramatic music and sounds, to dance as both fictional and real characters, using theatrical methods. It is possible to attend individual sessions or register for the entire series.

**İdil Kemer** graduated from Boğaziçi University's English Language and Literature department in 2002. During her graduate studies at Middle East Technical University, she began dancing and joined the ODTÜ Contemporary Dance Group. From 2005 to 2008, she actively continued her dance practice at the Contemporary Dance Artists Association in Istanbul. In 2008, she received a DanceWEB scholarship from ImPulsTanz, which allowed her to spend five weeks in Vienna. Upon returning to Turkey, she decided to shape her life and research through yoga and movement/dance practices, adding yoga instruction to her path. Subsequently, she began participating in both local and international creative projects. Between 2010 and 2012, as part of the Istanbul European Capital of Culture program, she met Meg Stuart, the founder of Damaged Goods, and participated in the "Off Course" project with other Turkish dancers. In 2011, she became part of the "Atelier" process at the invitation of Meg Stuart. During this time, she became familiar with the Skinner Releasing technique in Istanbul, which became a part of both her creative process and her physical exploration. In 2014, she received her second DanceWEB scholarship from Impulstanz, this time as a mentor assistant. In 2016, she received the DanceOMİ scholarship, which allowed her to participate in a three-week residency program in Upstate New York, focusing on collaborative artistic creation. During that time, she was introduced to video and film through Cynthia Madansky and appeared in various videos and short films as a performer. Most recently, in 2017, she was part of the cast of the 16mm short film "Gravity and Grace." From 2016 to 2026, she regularly conducted workshops called "Funflows," which focused on semi-structured improvisation. Currently, she is writing her graduation thesis at the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory, in the Traditional Dances program, with the topic "Improvisational Approaches in the Istanbul Dance Scene."
