"Vagabond," a film by Agnès Varda, one of the most important directors in world cinema and the French New Wave, opens with the death of Mona, who has rejected all forms of attachment, including ownership, and sets out on the road. The film constructs a narrative that unfolds in reverse, through the testimonies of the people she encounters along the way. This film, which explores the existential struggle of this woman who seeks no home and is free from all ties, won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, as well as the César Awards for Best Film and Best Actress.
* Following the screening on October 25th, a discussion will be held with Aslı Ildır, Ayça Çiftçi, and Senem Aytaç to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Altyazı Cinema Magazine.
* We would like to thank Il Cinema Ritrovato and Cineteca Bologna for their contributions.
