Dokuz Kraliçe (Nueve reinas)

Director: Fabián Bielinsky Screenplay: Fabián Bielinsky Cast: Ricardo Darín, Gastón Pauls, Elsa Berenguer Argentina / 2000 / 115 minutes / Color / DCP / 4K restored / Spanish / With Turkish subtitles "Nine Queens" is a significant example of contemporary Argentine cinema that, while staying close to mainstream conventions, captures the pulse of Argentina on the brink of a political and economic crisis through a story of fraud where nothing is as it seems. Juan, who makes a living by scamming small businesses, meets Marco, a small-time thief, while working. The two begin working together, and after encountering a major robbery opportunity, they will test the limits of their trust in each other. Fabián Bielinsky's confident debut film garnered great interest from film lovers worldwide upon its release, thanks to its creative direction, dark humor, and a script full of unexpected twists. It quickly became a cult classic and one of the most talked-about films of the 2000s. * We would like to thank Lumiton and the Argentine Consulate for their collaboration, and our main program sponsor, Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi, for their support.
