BaBa ZuLa, a pioneering name in 21st-century Turkish psychedelic music, blends traditional Anatolian melodies with electronic music, improvisation, and unique stage performances.

Founded in Istanbul in 1996, the group consists of founding members Levent Akman and Murat Ertel, as well as Ümit Adakale and Esma Ertel. BaBa ZuLa brings together a diverse range of instruments, including electric instruments, percussion, theremin, and many more, and offers its audience a unique experience by incorporating improvisation into every performance. BaBa ZuLa's stage performances go beyond just music. The ritualistic atmosphere, shaped by dance, poetry, theater, costumes, and visual elements, transforms each concert into a unique audiovisual experience.

Murat Ertel's specially designed electric instrument and the group's use of traditional instruments together create a rich musical heritage, spanning from pre-Islamic shamanic cultures to the stories of the Silk and Spice Roads, and extending to modern-day Istanbul, ensuring its preservation for the future.

BaBa Zula brings a unique stage experience to Zorlu PSM, where improvisation, psychedelic music, and the ancient spirit of Anatolia come together!
