Beşiktaş Çocuk Korosu ile Sen de Söyle

The Beşiktaş Children's Choir is the result of a project that Choir Director and Music Teacher Güneş KAYA has been working on for many years, in collaboration with Ms. Zeynep Civelek ÇAYNAK, and which finally came to fruition in 2016.

Since its establishment, the Beşiktaş Children's Choir has performed in numerous concerts and events, participating in a variety of projects including social responsibility initiatives, music videos, concerts held as special invitations, children's programs, brand launch concerts, and advertising shoots. The choir has also shared the stage with renowned musical ensembles such as the Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra and Choir, the Beşiktaş Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Istanbul Opera Chamber Orchestra. The choir opened the second day of the 1st Pera International Choir Festival, performing the children's choir section of the work "Carmina Burana" alongside the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra and Choir. They continued their success by winning the "Excellence in Polyphonic Song Interpretation" award at the 5th Sansev Istanbul International Polyphonic Choirs Festival, the "Excellence in Saip Egüz Song Interpretation" award at the 6th Sansev Istanbul International Polyphonic Choirs Festival, and the "Homogeneity" award at the 7th Sansev Istanbul International Polyphonic Choirs Festival, as well as the special "Nevit Kodallı" award in honor of a distinguished composer. In May 2022, the choir won the "Musicality – Musical Dynamics" award at the Izmir Polyphonic Choirs Festival organized by the Izmir branch of the Turkish Polyphonic Choirs Association. Most recently, at the 8th Sansev Istanbul International Polyphonic Choirs Festival, they received the "Cemal Reşit Rey Special Award" and the "Excellence in Choral Sound" award. The Beşiktaş Children's Choir's repertoire includes not only Turkish works but also songs in English, Italian, French, Latin, and Hebrew, providing them with the opportunity to collaborate with valuable composers and performers.
The Beşiktaş Children's Choir, in addition to classical music, has performed special concerts with artists such as Levent Yüksel, Tarkan, Soner Arıca, Sertab Erener, Cem Adrian, Kenan Doğulu, Can Şengün, and Murat Dalkılıç, and has participated in studio recordings with some of them, appearing on their albums. Güneş Kaya is the choir director, and Duru Korkutlar accompanies the choir on piano. Selçuk Taçalan is the coordinator of the choir. The choir is also a member of the "Chorus Culture Association."
This project, intended to be a lifelong endeavor, aims to bring together musically inclined children from different schools, fostering their interaction and providing them with basic music education. It seeks to cultivate a rich choral culture, enabling them to actively participate in creating beautiful, innovative, and groundbreaking artistic works. Furthermore, the project aims to contribute to their social lives and cultivate strong individuals in the field of art. In essence, as the unforgettable conductor and composer HİKMET ŞİMŞEK once said, it's about saying "YES TO ART."
