CARMEN by Antonio Gades & Carlos Saura
CARMEN by Antonio Gades & Carlos Saura
Art Director: Stella Arauzo
One of the world's most important flamenco companies, the Fundacion Antonio Gades, is coming to Turkey for the first time with its iconic "Carmen" performance!
"CARMEN," a major milestone in contemporary Spanish dance, was originally created as a film in 1983 in collaboration with director Carlos Saura, and was later adapted for the stage.
Through minimalist staging, vibrant flamenco performances, and poetic transitions, Antonio Gades and Carlos Saura create a multi-layered experience for the story of Carmen. Since then, Carmen has become a symbol of resistance, dignity, and female empowerment.
Today, Carmen continues to be one of the most frequently performed Spanish ballets worldwide, remaining a timeless cultural touchstone that continues to resonate with audiences across continents.
Don't miss the opportunity to experience this unique performance on November 11th at Zorlu PSM and on November 12th at ATO Congresium!
“"This Carmen is so passionate that she's electrifying... José from Cádiz is a force to be reckoned with... his movements are like arrows... she is truly a very, very great dancer."
