About Trip
Narrator:
“Inside Hagia Sophia, there lived a bird that was invisible during the day but appeared at night: the 'Prayer Bird.' When Ramadan came, this bird would gather the silent prayers of people and carry them to the heavens.”
Narrator:
“On that Ramadan evening, little Mehmet was in great distress. His father was looking for a job, and the family was struggling to get by. Although Mehmet did not show it to anyone, he was feeling down inside.”
Mehmet (softly, sadly):
“I wish my father's face could smile again...”
Narrator:
“At that moment, the Prayer Bird descended from the dome of Hagia Sophia and perched on Mehmet's shoulder.”
Prayer Bird (gentle, soft tone):
“Sometimes prayers are heard without words, my child.”
Narrator:
“The bird took the wish from Mehmet's heart and soared up to the dome. Just as the iftar call to prayer was being recited, the lights inside Hagia Sophia suddenly shone brightly.”
Narrator:
“The next day, his father received a job offer. From that day on, Mehmet never stopped praying. Because he knew that the heart's prayers heard in Hagia Sophia did not go into the void.”
