Night and Music in Alsancak
Sign in to like and rate
İzmir's night starts in Alsancak and usually ends there. Open with sunset on the Kordon, eat in the side streets of Kıbrıs Şehitleri and move on to the live-music venues. If there is a big concert, walk to the Gasworks; for classical or jazz, take the tram to the Ahmed Adnan Saygun in Güzelyalı. Distances are short and the programme leans on music; wear comfortable shoes, the night is long.
Route Stops

Kordon (First Kordon).
A beer or tea on the seafront at sunset; the Alsancak end is livelier, grab a bench early.

Have dinner on the pedestrian street, then move to the live-music bars on 1453 and 1469 streets. You choose the volume.

If there is a concert on, walk fifteen minutes to the open-air stage in the industrial venue.

Alternatively, tram to Güzelyalı; a ticket is needed for the symphony or jazz night, buy it early.

On the way back, the night lighting of the 1858 station is the last photo; if you missed the last train, taxis are plentiful.
