Giresun with Children

Long drives and steep climbs do not work with children. This route picks four stops close to the centre with short walks, taking in a boat trip, a museum, a shore and a waterfall. All are near one another, the furthest forty five kilometres away. There is shade and somewhere to sit throughout the day.
Route Stops

Giresun Island.
Begin the day by boat; for children the crossing is half the trip. On the island are temple remains and a solitary standing rock.

Giresun Museum.
A small museum inside an old church. An hour is enough; the ethnographic objects and the section on the hazelnut trade hold attention.

Bulancak.
Fifteen kilometres from the centre, with a long shore and a promenade laid out for walking. Suitable for a swim or simply time by the sea in the afternoon.

Çağlayan Waterfall.
The waterfall in Yağlıdere; the path is short and easy and there is plenty of shade. The sound of water and the cool air are the right way to end.
