Zincirli Han

A small commercial han in the northern part of the Grand Bazaar, within the bazaar's limits. KÜRE Encyclopedia and Wikipedia date it to 1708. It has a single courtyard and two storeys: shops on the ground floor and workshops above line a broad rectangular courtyard, and a small square section opens off its south-east side. With its rubble-stone walls, brick arches and green shutters, it has the scale of an everyday workplace. Once home to carpet dealers, coppersmiths and antique dealers, it is busy today mainly with jewellers' shops and workshops.
