About Venue
A double bath on a stepped lane off Anafartalar Caddesi in Ulus. It has no inscription; endowment documents show it was built in the second half of the fifteenth century by Sinan Bey, steward of İshak Paşa, grand vizier under Mehmed II and Bayezid II, to provide income for the paşa's soup kitchen in İnegöl. In 1673 the Ankara-born Şeyhülislam Mehmed Emin Efendi bought it and endowed it to the Zincirli Mosque. The men's section is on the north, the women's on the south; the dressing halls have octagonal pools under lath-and-plaster domes, the hot rooms a marble platform, domed iwans and private cells. Owned by the General Directorate of Foundations, it is one of three historic baths still operating in central Ankara; check its own site for current hours and prices.
