Rami Kütüphanesi

A Ministry of Culture and Tourism library in Eyüpsultan, set in the historic Rami Barracks and opened in January 2023. The barracks were built for the Asakir-i Mansure-i Muhammediye army founded after the abolition of the Janissaries in 1826, and were in military use from 1828 to 1971. The restoration begun in 2014 was completed in three phases. With 36,000 square metres of indoor space, a green courtyard of 51,000 square metres and seating for 4,200, it is Istanbul's largest library and also holds the book collection of the Beyazıt State Library. It has a baby and children's library, subject rooms, an Atatürk research library and a manuscripts library, and one study hall is open around the clock. Admission is free.
