This shoreside neighbourhood north of Üsküdar is the most tangible example of Istanbul's multicultural past, with a mosque, a church and a synagogue standing side by side along its single main street. Colourful wooden houses, a community garden and bakeries often appear in TV series. An hour to walk, two with breakfast.
