Kuzguncuk Bostanı

The Kuzguncuk allotments, known by their old name İlya'nın Bostanı, form an urban market garden of more than 16,000 square metres between the houses of Kuzguncuk. The land belongs to the General Directorate of Foundations and was leased by Üsküdar Municipality in 2014. It is divided into a hundred small plots, half given to local residents and the rest to schools and learning centres, with applications made through the Kuzguncuk neighbourhood office. Besides the hobby plots there are fruit trees, medicinal and aromatic herb beds, footpaths, an amphitheatre and a playground. The garden hosts Hıdırellez spring celebrations and neighbourhood events.
