About Venue
At the eastern edge of Mamak, Kayaş Station opened in the 1920s together with the Ankara-Kayseri line, the Republic's first great railway drive; its building carries the Turkish neoclassical lines of the First National Architecture period. Today it is the eastern terminus of the Başkentray commuter railway, and long-distance trains such as the Eastern Express and the Lake Van Express, as well as the Ankara-Sivas high-speed train, also call here. The station closed in July 2016 for the upgrade of Başkentray to metro standards and reopened on 12 April 2018 with three platforms and seven tracks. The commuter train from Sincan reaches it in about 49 minutes, and EGO buses depart from outside.
