İstiklal Caddesi

The 1.4 km pedestrian avenue from Tünel to Taksim is the spine of Beyoğlu, and the 19th-century apartment blocks, arcades, churches and the nostalgic tram all sit along it. On the way you will pass Çiçek Pasajı, St. Antoine church and Galatasaray High School, though the real discovery starts in the side streets. Walking it takes 30 minutes, but with the meyhanes and music venues it can easily fill your whole evening.
