İstanbul Hava Kuvvetleri Müzesi (Havacılık Müzesi)

A museum next to the military airfield in Yeşilköy displaying aircraft and helicopters used by the Turkish Air Force. Turkey's first air museum opened in 1971 at Cumaovası in İzmir and later moved to Yeşilköy, where the first air unit had been founded; the museum here opened to visitors on 16 October 1985. Of its 65,000 square metres, 2,365 are indoor and 12,000 outdoor display space. Besides the hangar and outdoor area there are a Memorial Hall, an engine section, a Weapons Hall and a Uniforms Hall.
