II. Bayezid Hamamı (Türk Hamam Kültürü Müzesi)

The huge double bath of the Bayezid II complex on Beyazıt Square, built in the early 1500s. Its income went to the foundation of Gülbahar Hatun, mother of Selim I. Carved fragments of the triumphal column from the Forum of Theodosius, which once stood on this square, were used as building stone in its foundations. After serving as a store and workshop in the 20th century and falling into ruin, it was taken over by Istanbul University and opened in 2015 as the Bayezid II Turkish Bath Culture Museum, displaying bath objects and Byzantine and Ottoman architectural fragments.
