About Venue
Capital of the Hittite Empire and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986; six kilometres of walls, the Lion Gate, the King's Gate, the Yerkapı tunnel and the Great Temple spread over a wide area you tour by car between meadows. The procession of gods carved at the Yazılıkaya rock sanctuary two kilometres away is the peak of the day. It can be done as a day trip from Ankara, but know that it is a long day with an early start.
