Beştepe Millet Camii

Beştepe Millet Mosque, inside the Presidential Complex in the Beştepe neighbourhood of Yenimahalle, opened for worship on 3 July 2015 and is, according to the Presidency, one of the public spaces of the complex. Contractors' project pages name the architects as Şefik Birkiye and Selim Dalaman of Vizzion Architects with Can Gökoğuz of NNC Mimarlık. Officially described as a synthesis of modern and Ottoman architecture, it has a footprint of 5,177 square metres, one main dome and four semi-domes, four minarets of around 60 metres with two balconies each, three levels of basement, prayer floor and gallery, and room for 3,000 worshippers at once. The calligraphy is by Hüseyin Kutlu and the decoration by Semih İrteş; there are two lifts and access for disabled visitors.
