About Venue
A double bath between Ayasofya-i Kebir Mosque and the Sultanahmet Mosque, built by Mimar Sinan in 1556-1557 to generate income for Hürrem Sultan's foundations. It stands on the remains of the Roman Baths of Zeuxippus. About 75 metres long, it was the first building in Turkish bath architecture to place the women's and men's sections end to end on a single axis. It was used as a bath until 1910, then became a storeroom and a carpet showroom, and reopened as a working bath after a restoration from 2008 to 2011.
