Atatürk Kültür Merkezi (AKM)

Reopened in 2021 on the eastern edge of Taksim Square, the AKM is the city's largest performing-arts complex, with a 2,000-seat opera house, theatre and concert halls, a cinema and a gallery. State Opera and Ballet productions and Istanbul concerts of the Presidential Symphony are staged here. Even without a show, the foyer inside the sphere and the bookshop are worth a look.
