Yol ve Ötesi
The play depicts the 24 hours leading up to the murder of Sabahattin Ali, which is considered the first unsolved murder in Turkey.
In 1948 Turkey, where Sabattin Ali was facing intense threats and his personal freedom was increasingly restricted, the only option seemed to be leaving his beloved homeland. This departure was not an escape, but rather a search for new ground to continue his struggle. He planned to leave Istanbul and cross the border into Bulgaria via a vegetable truck from Edirne. However, this plan was also known to the authorities.
This fictional account tells the story of a journey taken by Ali Ertekin, a truck driver, and Sabahattin Ali. The author, while narrating Sabahattin Ali's final two days, also explores the era, human relationships, class consciousness, and ideological conflicts of the time. We invite all literature and theater enthusiasts to join us on this journey, which features a talented cast accompanied by the compositions and live performances of Dengin Ceyhan.
