The Audience

"National Theatre Live" presents one of the most-watched productions of all time. Academy Award-winning Helen Mirren stars in this acclaimed play, which inspired Netflix's "The Crown," portraying Queen Elizabeth II. For 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II held weekly, private meetings with each of her 12 prime ministers. These meetings, known as "The Audience," saw the Queen advising her prime ministers on both public and personal matters, from Winston Churchill to Margaret Thatcher and David Cameron. Through these intimate encounters, we gain insights into the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch.
