Taksim'e Kadar

The play "Taksim'e Kadar" was created by having each character written by a different author, and then brought together by Zelal Buldan. Just as we don't know the stories of the passengers we sit next to on a real minibus journey, the authors were unaware of the stories of the other characters while writing their own.

On a rainy morning in Istanbul, a shared minibus traveling from Bakırköy to Taksim brings together six passengers of different ages, backgrounds, and social classes, along with the driver. Each embarks on a journey filled with their own worries, inner thoughts, dreams, and regrets. Over time, the minibus becomes a kind of confessional, as stories of heartbreak, disappointments, fears of death, family pressures, and personal struggles are revealed one after another. The narrative structure presents a scenario where the characters have limited direct interaction with each other, but they observe and learn about each other, opening up about their inner worlds. All the characters are on a journey, both within themselves and in their relationships with society.
