Every person Santiago encounters changes his destiny. Some serve as a sign, others as a test, and still others awaken a voice within him. As Santiago gets closer to the treasure, he is actually getting closer to himself.
In the endless silence of the desert, he follows the signs, confronts his fears, and pays the price for his dreams. And in the end, he discovers the great truth: what he was searching for was not far away, but within himself.
