In the 1990s, Turkey was shaken by a growing number of unsolved murders and a series of political scandals. The legacy of that decade extended beyond these dark events, also contributing to the rise of human rights movements that would gain momentum in the 2000s.

Ebru, who grew up in Bursa, was accepted to the Faculty of Literature at Istanbul University. This was the first time she had ever been to Istanbul, and she moved into an apartment next door to her relatives.

As the 90s unfold on the pages of history, the young woman, while breaking down doors, searches for her own political identity, sometimes finding it in ways that bring a smile to the faces of those watching.
