General Summary.

The game features a character who describes himself not as "just an ordinary boatman, but as a companion to poets."

The story is told from the narrator's perspective. This boat, in the conventional sense, does not transport passengers to the other side.

...in a way that transcends time and space, the great figures of Turkish poetry (Can Yücel, Edip...).

Cansever, İlhan Berk, İsmet Özel, Tomris Uyar, Ece Ayhan, Nilgün Marmara, Ülkü Tamer, and...

(Sezai Karakoç) would gather around the same table. The passengers didn't have suitcases; instead, they carried unfinished lines of poetry.

And they carry their childhoods in their pockets. Throughout the game, these poets explore what poetry is, and...

They discuss life, death, fatherhood, loneliness, and their homeland, each with their own unique style.

Finally, the narrator reveals that he is not actually a boatman, but rather a "listener" for these people who repair memories.

He realizes this and ends the play by passing the empty chair at the table to the audience (the reader).

Main Themes.

• Childhood and MemoryRegardless of their age, poets carry their essence with them wherever they go.
It is emphasized that poetry, in a way, is about "repairing memory," as it helps us revisit and understand our childhoods.
and it is an attempt to "return home."

Shortcomings and Wounds. The common ground among poets is not that they speak the same language, but that they share the same pain.
Poetry is the act of preserving and conveying what cannot be expressed through ordinary speech, and it is fundamentally a human endeavor.
It is an expression of shortcomings.

Father Figure and the Past.In the game, the voices of the poets change, leading to a shared silence.
The moment they are buried, the topic of "fathers" arises, bringing up memories of the past, roots, and losses.
The settlement center is located here.

Communication and Loneliness.Even though poets may seem to be arguing with each other, in reality...
They are described as talking to each other, seeking to alleviate each other's loneliness and to simply remain connected.

Character Dynamics in the Game (The World of Poets)

The text clearly portrays the literary identities and personalities of the poets as elements of conflict on stage.

Can Yücel. He expresses his love through anger, curses, and sharp words.

unleashing an explosive force. Even his walk was rebellious, "not because he could write, but because..."

He is the kind of figure who writes because he can't stand it anymore.

• Edip CanseverLooking at the empty chair (or chairs) at the table, introspective, unhurried.

and a figure characterized by profound silence. Someone who notices what's missing before anyone else, because "a person..."

"He sits with those who don't come," and "People entrust what they cannot express through words to writing."

It represents my understanding.

İsmet Özel.He was a contrarian, always challenging everything, his ideas sharp and his words like stones.

"There's no such thing as 'the opposition'; every opposition is someone else's."

It symbolizes the groundbreaking aspect, with phrases like "this is it" and "poetry happens to people."

İlhan Berk: He questioned the world anew, engaging with stone, water, and objects, seeking to understand their perspective.

The philosophical side of poetry transforms its form. Poetry is more of a "way of seeing" than a collection of words.

It is important to remember this.

Tomris Uyar. The poem, like a table, balances the voices of male poets, lowering their volume without silencing them.

a wise figure who reminds us to "listen to each other and to life."

Ece Ayhan."Those who defy the rules, those who question established norms, and those who harbor unease and..."

It represents the dissenting voice, the aspect of poetry that doesn't fit within the confines of government institutions or official documents.

Nilgün Marmara. Its fragility is such that even the sea seems to pause and look back at it; its silence...

A poet who transcends mere words.

Alexander the Great.Walking like a child, with the eyes of an old man filled with tears.

The photo shows a significant age difference between the people sitting at the table, highlighting a vast difference in their life stages, almost like a whole childhood separates them.

The voice that whispers of possibilities.

Ülkü Tamer.Bringing the innocence of childhood to the table, it's something that never leaves a person.

The poet, who reminded us that some things are better expressed through actions rather than words, and that one can lose nothing in the process.

Sezai Karakoç.: Representing the lost paradise within a person, symbolizing faith and hope; despite all...

Following the writing, all that remained was the word "Inshan," signifying the difficulty of "being Inshan."

emphasizing the wise people.
