Rojda

Rojda was born in Siirt-Kurtalan. She later moved to Istanbul. She joined the group Koma Gulên Xerzan, founded by her older brother, and began her professional music career. She took part in 4 album projects with Koma Gulên Xerzan.

She reached wide audiences with the songs “Meyremxan,” which she performed, and “Helimcan,” which she sang. She then became the first female vocalist to record a duet with Şakiro, the powerful voice of the Kurdish dengbêjlik tradition, on his work Wey Dil. This duet received great acclaim and praise.

With her style, Rojda succeeded in reinterpreting old folk kılams and making them popular with today’s youth.

In 2006, Rojda left the group, released her first album, and continued her career with solo albums.
