The greatest poet of the Turkish language, Nazım Hikmet, wrote hundreds of letters to his wife, Piraye, throughout the 17 years he spent intermittently in prison, from 1933 to 1950. Through these letters, he shared his love, his struggles, and his longing for her in their purest form. Piraye kept these letters for years, stored in a wooden suitcase that Nazım had made himself while imprisoned in Çankırı Prison. What enabled Nazım to persevere through those difficult years of imprisonment was the all-encompassing presence of love, struggle, and longing in his heart. Murat Çidamlı is a Turkish actor in theater, cinema, and television. He completed his undergraduate studies in theater at the Department of Theater at the Hacettepe University State Conservatory. After his conservatory education, he worked as an actor at the State Theaters of Diyarbakır, Trabzon, Ankara, and Izmir. He acted in and directed numerous plays in both state and private theaters. He also pursued postgraduate studies in Anthropology and Theater Anthropology at various universities. He taught theater at many established institutions and trained numerous students.
