The puppet maker, Gepetto, longs to escape his loneliness and makes a heartfelt wish, which the Blue Fairy grants. The puppet he has just carved, whom he names Pinocchio, comes to life the next morning. Gepetto is overjoyed, but there's a problem: Pinocchio must pass a difficult test to become a real boy. Pinocchio embarks on a series of adventures to become a real boy. He first meets the Fox and the Cat, and then a magician and the puppeteer Arlecchino. He performs dances and sings in Arlecchino's circus. Thanks to his friend, the cricket Jiminy, Pinocchio learns about the world and himself, and explores concepts like kindness, honesty, love, and family.
