Soren Sveistrup's novel The Deadly Game (originally titled Birkely / Hide and Seek) tells of the revenge taken years later by secrets rooted in childhood. The story begins in 1992, when a group of children find a body in the forest. Years later, in the present-day murders, the killer plays a classic game of hide-and-seek by sending mysterious messages to the victims, delivering one of the most gripping examples of Scandinavian crime fiction.
