Never Give Up - Tiyatro 46
We at Theatre 46 are thrilled to present the second Charles Bukowski play by Mert Tokatlı, "Never Give Up," a theatrical adaptation that premiered worldwide. This play, following his adaptation of Freddie Mercury and Jack Kerouac from the Beat Generation, has now become a significant part of world theatre literature. Following the electrifying performances in Taksim, where Mert Tokatlı embodied Henry Charles Bukowski and Şennur Üzgen portrayed Jane Cooney Baker, we are proud to bring this production back to you. This is not the full play, but rather a performance version. Mert Tokatlı's "Never Give Up" performance version brings together six scenes depicting Henry Charles Bukowski's first encounter with and subsequent separation from his beloved, Jane Cooney Baker, whom he often spoke of with admiration. As a team at Theatre 46, we are all very excited. Before we bring you the complete versions of my "Five Henry Charles Bukowski" plays, as well as my adaptations of Freddie Mercury and Jack Kerouac from the Beat Generation, we are presenting this performance version.
