What if one day, a close friend told you that the reality you've created – your social relationships, the person you are, the friendships you have, in short, your life – can no longer continue as it is?
What if the person you thought was your friend isn't actually your friend?
The story begins with two friends who had agreed to meet in the city square to protest a military intervention that one country might use to control another. However, later that evening, they meet at one of their homes. One of them didn's go to the protest, and to his friend's surprise, he confesses that he actually supports the intervention. A is confused by the change in his friend's attitude. Has he always been like this, or is their new relationship changing him? As A witnesses his friend seemingly becoming someone he doesn't recognize, he feels compelled to intervene. After this intrusion into his friend's life, B tells A that he no longer wants to see him.
The play, "Intervention," explores the relationship between two friends, A and B, as it is shaped by the context of a military intervention. Through snapshots of their friendship, the play prompts us to question the willingness to sacrifice one's true self in order to adapt to the pressures of the modern world. The play delves into the individual's isolation, the fear of rejection, and the struggle for survival, focusing on which of the two friends will ultimately succumb to the pressures they face after the intervention.
