North Germany’s uncompromising sludge metal band Mantar is bringing its savage energy, which has shaken the European metal scene, to the Blind stage on October 13, 2026!

Founded by Erinç Sakarya and Hanno Klänhardt in 2012, Mantar is now one of the first names that come to mind when sludge metal is mentioned in many parts of Europe. The band achieved major success with its 2022 album “Pain Is Forever and This Is The End,” climbing to number 2 on the German charts, and now returns with a much darker and rawer spirit.

With its new album “Post Apocalyptic Depression,” Mantar leaves the clean waters of polished production behind and returns to its roots, reviving its famous early approach to “dirty and fast” music. In guitarist and vocalist Hanno’s words, these new tracks, recorded without a plan using equipment they found in the studio, represent the band’s leanest and most aggressive form to date. Mantar melts the muddy spirit of bands such as Melvins, Nirvana’s “Bleach” era, and Mudhoney in the crucible of modern metal, and is known for building a massive wall of sound onstage with just two people.

After a difficult period in which Erinç and Hanno returned from the brink of breaking up, these new tracks, recorded almost as a form of spiritual healing, have a sound that renews Mantar’s identity and elevates its stage energy to the highest levels expected of them. Entering their fourteenth year, Mantar reinforces their career with their uncompromising and fierce stance, and will be at Blind on October 13 for their second Istanbul concert.
