Mahşer-i Cümbüş
Mahşer-i Cümbüş, a pioneer of modern improvisational theater in Turkey, continues to connect with theater enthusiasts.
Established in May 2001 by students of the Department of Theatre at the Faculty of Language, History, and Geography of Ankara University, Mahşer-i Cümbüş began its "Theatre Sports" performances in September of the same year at the Ankara Tenedos Cafe.
Mahşer-i Cümbüş moved its operations to Istanbul in August 2003 and has continued its activities there. Since its establishment, Mahşer-i Cümbüş has performed shows and participated in festivals in many cities, primarily Ankara and Istanbul. As a pioneer of modern improvisational theater in Turkey, Mahşer-i Cümbüş introduced "Improv Games," a form of improvisational theater performance, to Turkish audiences for the first time. In its 5th year, the group opened its own theater, "Mahşer-i Cümbüş Dreamland." The team has performed over 2000 "Improv Games" shows and over 300 "Brainstorm" performances to date.
Mahşer-i Cümbüş, a pioneer of modern improvisational theater in Turkey, made another groundbreaking move in 2007 by bringing "Anında Görüntü Show," Turkey's first improvisational show, to television screens, marking the beginning of a new era in Turkish television.
