Ignorance, the inability to know or see, deprives us of a sense of who we are. But knowing also means being forced to witness things we cannot bear. Humans are caught in a desperate struggle between the exhilarating desire to know and the comfortable unease of not knowing. The third play in Yakın Tiyatrosu's physical theater project, titled "The Blind," is now on stage!

Game Theme:

The play begins with a group of blind people waiting in a forest, lost in darkness and uncertainty. A figure who is supposed to guide them is actually dead, but the blind people are unaware of this. They try to understand their surroundings and their situation only through the sounds they hear, the wind they feel, and other elements of nature. The play explores the blind people's reflections on their fate, their confrontation with their fears, and their sense of helplessness in the face of the unknown. In the end, the help they are waiting for never arrives, and the play ends in uncertainty, without offering a resolution. Maeterlinck's "The Blind" is considered one of the most important examples of symbolist theater, and it powerfully portrays the human struggle for existence in the face of the unknown.
