Atonement: A Play.
The play is an adaptation of the poetry collection titled "KEFARET."
Can someone who has even lost their sense of loneliness ever overcome the forced repetitions in their life?
Can someone achieve this without loving their fate?
In the play "Atonement," you will hear the story of a woman's journey of self-discovery, a woman who has even lost her sense of solitude. The woman embarks on a quest to find what truly defines her within the bustling streets of Istanbul. This search begins in a cafe that used to be a church, then extends to a homeless man's rosary, a tiny tea shop, a mother's tears, and a dilapidated shop from the 1970s.
The woman, caught in the dilemma of fleeting freedoms, recurring separations, and the uncertainties she experiences under the starlight, strives to unravel the knot between love and fate. As poetry and narrative intertwine, the city transforms into a character: purple wisteria blossoms fall, the murmur of the tavern is heard, and a life is left orphaned.
"Atonement" is a poetic, one-person play that explores the struggle to remain human in the midst of alienation, transforming a triangle of uncertainty, regret, and hope into a profound encounter.
Following the performance, there will be a book signing session for the poetry collection that the play is based on.
