KARAKİRAZ - İNCİRBOĞAZI SPORTIF DOĞA YÜRÜYÜŞÜ

14 November 08:00
İstanbul Doğa

This time, we're going to Karakıraaz village with nature lovers.

On this hike, we will be in Karakiraz Village, which is part of Şile, near Istanbul. Like other beautiful villages in Şile, Karakiraz Village is hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city, nestled among lush greenery. This village, often visited by hikers, is an ideal place to connect with nature. On Saturday, we will spend time in the forested area of Karakiraz Village with a leisurely walk.

The fact that the location we're going to is close to Istanbul can be seen as an added benefit.

Assuming everything goes as planned, our hike, which begins on the forest trails, will conclude when we reach the sea.

This hike, which will be approximately 12 km long, is classified as an easy level. We plan to follow the trails along the route and occasionally venture into forested areas. With thorns, slopes, and mud along the way, you'll soon find yourselves reaching the destination. We will return home, enjoying the satisfaction of having overcome the challenges nature presented.

We will make our breaks during the event more enjoyable with a forest bathing experience. 🥰 The sounds of birds chirping, leaves rustling, and the wind will accompany us.

Forest bathing. or, in its Japanese name. shinrin-yokuForest bathing is a practice that involves immersing oneself in a forest environment to improve both physical and mental well-being. Emerging in the 1980s as a way to combat stress-related illnesses linked to increasing urbanization and technology use, forest bathing encourages relaxation and mindfulness by engaging the senses with nature. Research suggests that this practice can lead to better sleep, improved mood and concentration, enhanced immune function, and lower stress levels and blood pressure. Participants consciously connect with their surroundings through sight, sound, smell, touch, and even taste, simply by spending time in nature. This connection can promote a sense of calm and reduce anxiety and depression.

You can be sure that you'll be able to take amazing photos while breathing in the fresh air.

See you later...

Breakfast & Shopping:

We will be able to shop in a suitable location and enjoy breakfast using the items we bring with us.

Lunch & Dinner:

We will have lunch with the food we bring with us. I recommend bringing light snacks like sandwiches. We will stop at a suitable place for dinner.

Preparation:

When hiking in the area, be prepared for the possibility of rain or mud. I recommend bringing spare shoes and clothing to leave in the car.

You will need hiking boots, a whistle, a walking stick, gaiters, and a raincoat or poncho.

This activity is a nature sport, and it's very important to adhere to the dress code.

Detailed information regarding weather conditions will be provided through a WhatsApp group that will be created the day before the event.

Two hours spent in the forest. It can have a remarkably positive impact on our bodies. This practice, known as "Shinrin-yoku" or "forest bathing," which is particularly popular in Japan, argues that close contact with nature has beneficial effects on both physical and mental health. Here's what happens in your body during this process:

1. Stress Reduction and Lowered Cortisol Levels.

Spending time in nature reduces levels of cortisol, a hormone known for its role in stress. This can lead to a feeling of being calmer, more relaxed, and more balanced. Additionally, it can also lead to effects such as lower blood pressure and a slower heart rate.

2. Boosts the Immune System.

Trees release volatile organic compounds, known as phytoncides, which boost the immune system. These compounds increase the activity of white blood cells (natural killer cells), thereby enhancing the body's resistance to disease.

3. Mental health improves.

Being in a natural environment can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. It can improve focus by providing mental relaxation and a more positive mood. Studies have shown that spending time in forests activates a "relaxation" mode in the brain.

4. Blood pressure and pulse decrease.

Research has shown that spending just two hours in a forest can lower blood pressure and heart rate, thereby contributing positively to cardiovascular health.

5. Aromatic Therapy Effects.

Spending two hours in the forest has a comprehensive "reset" effect, both for your body and mind, allowing you to feel refreshed.
