Dialogue in the Dark:

The "Dialogue in the Dark" exhibition invites visitors to experience iconic urban spaces in Istanbul in the darkness. The exhibition, which includes sections such as riding a ferry, strolling through parks, crossing the street in traffic, riding the Beyoğlu tram, and visiting a local market, is conducted with the assistance of visually impaired guides, allowing visitors to discover new, sensory-based ways of "seeing." This one-hour experience offers visitors a chance to experience a side of Istanbul they may never have known.

Tips for Your Visit Before Coming to the Exhibition:

"How much time should I allocate to visit the exhibition?"

We kindly request that all visitors arrive at the venue 15 minutes before the exhibition session time indicated on their tickets. Upon arrival, visitors will be greeted by a guide who will prepare them for the exhibition. The experience will last approximately 60 minutes.

"Is it possible to bring electronic devices into the exhibition?"

Because the exhibition takes place in a completely dark environment, all electronic devices that emit light, such as watches, cell phones, and cameras, as well as any jewelry, fluorescent clothing, or accessories that might glow in the dark, are not permitted inside.

"Is there a secure location where I can store my items that emit light or have a shiny surface throughout the duration of the exhibition?"

Visitors will be provided with a complimentary locker where they can store their belongings, including the illuminated/glowing items mentioned earlier, as well as wallets, glasses, bags, lighters, and any other personal items, so they don't have to carry them throughout the experience. However, visitors are advised to bring some small change with them before entering the exhibition area. (This applies to groups of 9th grade students and above.)

"Can I bring my children?"

The exhibition is recommended for children aged 9 and older. For individual visits, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult who has purchased a ticket. However, the exhibition is open to all age groups with the consent of their parents or legal guardians.

"Is it possible to enter the exhibition using a wheelchair?"

Visitors who need to use wheelchairs to attend the exhibition should inform a sales representative when purchasing their tickets. They will then receive the necessary assistance and support throughout the duration of the exhibition.

Electric wheelchairs are not permitted in the exhibition.

"What if I want to leave before the exhibition ends?"

Throughout your entire exhibition experience, guides will be present to ensure your safety and comfort. However, if you wish to leave the exhibition before it ends, there will be numerous easily accessible exits available.

"Are we allowed to bring in our own food and drinks?"

Food and beverages are not permitted to be brought into the exhibition area from outside.

"Can I wear high heels to the exhibition?"

It is definitely not recommended to attend the exhibition wearing high heels. Visitors are advised to wear comfortable shoes and clothing when visiting the exhibition.

"Can we communicate with each other during the exhibition?"

Visitors are not only allowed to talk, laugh, explore, ask questions, and enjoy themselves during this unique experience; in fact, it is highly encouraged.

Experience duration.

The exhibition experience lasts for 60 minutes. Please arrive at the venue approximately 15 minutes before your scheduled entry time to allow for preparation and check-in. Tickets for missed sessions will be considered invalid and cannot be transferred to another time slot or day.

How can we benefit from the discounted category?

All students, teachers, and participants aged 65 and over can benefit from the discounted rate by presenting valid identification. Holders of press cards and visitors with disabilities can participate in the experience free of charge.

Liability rests with the buyer, and liability is hereby waived.

The Dialogue Social Entrepreneurship Association (DİSODER) and the Istanbul Dialogue Museum cannot be held liable for any direct or indirect damages that may arise as a result of visitors using the experiences in their current form.
