"The Cat Who Wants to Change Its Story" is a captivating stage performance that draws inspiration from a traditional Sanskrit tale, combining dance and puppetry.
The story follows four unusual characters who live among the intricate roots of a banyan tree: a cat, an owl, a lizard, and a mouse. The delicate balance between predator and prey is disrupted when the cat gets caught in a hunter's trap. The mouse saves the cat, promising not to harm it; however, building trust within the laws of nature is not easy. That is, until the puppets decide to change their own story...
This performance, which combines dance, theater, and striking puppet design, creates a poetic narrative about friendship, trust, coexistence, and the meaning of being human. The modular stage design, enhanced by video projections, and the atmosphere inspired by Indian music, invite the audience into a magical world.
Created by choreographer Thomas Noone, the work offers a visually striking and layered theatrical experience, brought to life by four versatile performers who embody the characters.

Previously shown in: Spain, Germany.

With the valuable contributions of the Institut Ramon Llull.

This program is partially funded by a grant provided by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), a state institution.

"The Cat Who Wanted to Change Her Tale," a captivating dance-puppet show suitable for all ages, is inspired by a traditional Sanskrit story.
This unique production explores themes of friendship, trust, and the essence of humanity through the lives of four unlikely companions: a Cat, an Owl, a Lizard, and a Mouse. Set amongst the intricate roots of a banyan tree, predator and prey have established a delicate balance, until a hunter's trap catches the Cat.
The Mouse, promised protection, releases the Cat, but struggles to trust this new ally, and ultimately the Mouse is caught by the Owl. Such are the inherent laws of nature, until the puppets themselves decide to change the course of the story. The show features stunning puppetry, with each character brought to life by four versatile performers. A modular set, enhanced by video projections of the Banyan tree, creates an immersive experience.
Accompanied by a soundtrack infused with Indian influences, the performance portrays the animals' social hierarchies, the thrilling encounter with the hunter, and the Mouse's courageous act of saving the day.
