The play portrays a character, Argan, who is deeply familiar to us all: someone who is never content unless they have a malady to worry about. Through his portrayal, the playwright mercilessly satirizes doctors, the medical world, and the society of the time.

In Argan's world, where he constantly believes he is ill, spending a fortune on doctors and medications, nothing is as it seems. As doctors, false friends, ulterior motives, family dramas, and hilariously absurd schemes intertwine, Molière's sharp wit transforms the story into a theatrical spectacle that never fails to elicit laughter.
