"The Sun's Table" is bringing people together again.

Some words never fade, some songs never fall silent, and some moments live on forever. "Güneşin Sofrası" (The Sun's Table) is being brought back to the stage once again, this time in memory of its creator, Genco Erkal. From love to homeland, from exile to freedom, from war to peace, the poems and songs of these two great writers resonate with our present day, filled with humor, music, and questions that still hold relevance.

In Tülay Günal's solo performance, which she shared the stage with for many years alongside the great Genco Erkal, the master will always be with us, among us. This musical event, featuring pieces composed by Timur Selçuk, Cem Karaca, Zülfü Livaneli, Fazıl Say, Tarık Öcal, Hasan Yükselir, and Nadir Göktürk, as well as songs from the "Yürüyen Merdiven" group, and enriched with Turkish lyrics written by Tülay Günal and Tuncay Çavdar for the works of Kurt Weill and Hanns Eisler, expresses a longing for a more just society and brings this message to the theater.

This musical and theatrical performance features timeless verses, jokes, and songs that champion ethical values, human rights, and citizens, standing against oppression, censorship, corruption, and fraud, as well as cheap politics. "The Sun's Table," which carries on the legacy of Genco Erkal, emphasizes the continuity of culture and art.

Directed by Tülay Günal, with musical direction by Yiğit Özatalay and choreography by Zeynep Tanbay, the production features Deniz Doğangün on cello, Mustafa Kemal Emirel on drums, Mahmut Özdemir in lighting design, Özlem Kaya in costume design, and Cihan Alkan in set design.
