GÜMÜŞPINAR-KURŞUNLUGERME KARAMANDERE

7 November 08:00
İstanbul Doğa

The Kurşunlugerme Aqueduct, with its history dating back to Ancient Rome, is a three-tiered structure that served as one of the aqueducts supplying water to Istanbul for centuries. Located near the village of Gümüşpınar, which is part of Çatalca, the aqueduct has managed to survive despite being threatened in recent years by treasure hunters.

Our hike begins in the village of Gümüşpınar, Çatalca. We will follow forest roads and trails, crossing streams (by stepping on stones), and along the way, we will capture stunning photos of Kurşunlugerme, one of the largest aqueducts in the region. The sounds of birds and streams, and the diverse types of leafy trees will accompany us. We plan to end our approximately 13 km hike in the village of Karamandere.

We'll have breakfast at a convenient spot along the way, and we'll have lunch with sandwiches or snacks that we bring with us.
